This National Indigenous Peoples Day, we are called to celebrate the invaluable contributions of Indigenous communities across Canada. It’s a time to honour the innovation, leadership and partnerships that Indigenous peoples bring to various sectors every day. But more than that, it is also a time to reflect on what we can be doing to support and amplify Indigenous voices and initiatives. From fostering Indigenous innovation and increasing employment opportunities to strengthening leadership and collaborative partnerships, there is a lot for us to prioritize in the coming years.

Our new Future in Focus on National Indigenous Peoples Day looks into the following questions:

• How can we support Indigenous innovation to drive sustainable growth and prosperity?
• What collective actions can be taken to enhance Indigenous employment, improve working conditions, and build strong, lasting partnerships?
• What is the government’s role in ensuring Indigenous communities can lead in various fields and sectors?

Let’s come together to recognize the vital role of Indigenous peoples in our society and to chart a course toward a more inclusive, prosperous future for all.
