This National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we are called to take meaningful action towards healing and reconciliation. It’s a time to delve deeper into how Indigenous communities are redefining success, driving change, and reshaping Canada’s future. Beyond celebrating these achievements, it’s also a call to action: What can we do to support and elevate Indigenous perspectives in policy-making, business, and social innovation? Through the lenses of digital equity, economic participation, and education, we uncover the systemic barriers and innovative solutions that can pave the way for meaningful Indigenous inclusion and leadership in various sectors.

Our new Future in Focus: National Day for Truth and Reconciliation looks into the following questions:

• How can Canada’s innovation economy be restructured to include and benefit Indigenous communities without perpetuating digital colonialism?
• What educational and support frameworks are necessary to bridge the gap between Indigenous youth in remote communities and the wider Canadian economy?
