Tamara Thermitus

Distinguished Boulton Senior Fellow McGill University’s Faculty of Law

Tamara Thermitus is a lawyer emeritus and Distinguished Boulton Senior Fellow at McGill University’s Faculty of Law (2023–2025). Called to the Quebec Bar in 1988, she has held leadership roles in Justice Canada, the Bar Association and the Federal Government as the Chief Negotiator for the Federal government of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada and has contributed extensively to legal work on discrimination and reconciliation. In 2025, her works were recognized by the Association of Independent Journalists of Québec (Association des journalistes indépendants du Québec) in the review, opinion, and editorial category.
