Founders of the Vancouver-based Lithium X Energy Corp. are benefitting from the growing push towards fossil-fuel-free transportation, having sold their venture for $265 million to Chinese-based NextView New Energy Lion Hong Kong Ltd. The Canadian company holds lithium assets that can supply battery manufacturers in China.

“Lithium, long used in pharmaceuticals, in the manufacture of ceramics and various industrial uses, has seen demand soar for its applications in battery technology for electric cars and power storage.”
